Lake Lanier covers 60 square miles of land in Georgia, and there are many different types of homes and condos to be found around it. From older cottages to luxury mansions, you can find homes on Lake Lanier from several hundred thousand dollars to the millions. Buford is on the Gwinnett counties side of Lake Lanier (south side of the lake) and actually has the nicer as well as more expensive properties and lake front lots.

Though you can find older cabins and mobile homes directly on the lake for around $200K, these are usually purchased to rebuild into luxury homes. They seldom have boat slips or a dock, and you should expect to pay more along the lines of $300-$500 for an average 2-3 bedroom home with good access to the water. The better, more preferred luxury homes will usually run from $500 to several million.

Although there are Lake Lanier foreclosures to be had, they will often be in the higher priced category. Lake Lanier lakefront lots are few and far between, most having been built upon, and you can expect to pay a premium price for the good ones that are left.
